Our Helsinki SaaS development addresses the specific technical requirements of HealthTech and CleanTech. For HealthTech SaaS: Kanta integration is the centerpiece. The Kanta system provides HL7 FHIR APIs for accessing patient records (with patient consent), electronic prescriptions, and the Patient Data Repository. We build SaaS platforms that connect to Kanta via the standardized interfaces, implementing the authentication (Suomi.fi digital identity for patient access, organizational certificates for provider access), consent management, and data handling required by Finnish health data legislation (the Act on the Secondary Use of Health and Social Data, 552/2019). Architecture for health SaaS: Next.js/React frontend with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance (mandatory for Finnish public sector), Node.js or Go API layer, PostgreSQL with encryption at rest, hosted on Finnish infrastructure (AWS Stockholm or Hetzner Finland — Finnish health data should stay within the EU, preferably within Finland). EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) compliance for SaaS that qualifies as medical device software (SaMD): we build with IEC 62304 software lifecycle requirements from day one — risk management, traceability, and documentation that satisfies notified body audits. Not every health SaaS is a medical device, but the architecture should be MDR-ready in case the classification applies. For CleanTech SaaS: energy data integration is the foundation. Finnish buildings have smart meters that report hourly consumption to Fingrid's Datahub. District heating operators (Helen, Fortum, local utilities) provide consumption APIs. Weather data from the Finnish Meteorological Institute feeds demand forecasting models. We build SaaS that: aggregates energy data from electricity meters, district heating, and on-site generation (solar, heat pumps) into a unified building energy profile, runs optimization models (when to shift load, when to draw from vs. feed to the grid, how to balance thermal comfort with cost), and generates EU EPBD-compliant energy performance reports. The platform architecture supports the emerging Nordic energy market dynamics: dynamic electricity pricing (Nord Pool), demand response participation, and building-to-grid flexibility services.
