Found and fixed: the 8% failure rate was caused by a 15-second timeout that was too short for older users navigating Mobile BankID — increased to 45 seconds and added a "still waiting" UI indicator. Device-specific testing on iPhone and Samsung (the timeout behaved differently across devices). (3) Klarna testing: automated Klarna checkout widget testing across Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. Invoice payment flow, pay-later flow, and instalment flow. Found: the Safari rendering issue was a CSS flexbox incompatibility in the Klarna widget container — fixed with a Safari-specific CSS workaround. Responsive testing: Klarna widget verified on mobile viewports. (4) Subscription lifecycle testing: complete subscriber journey — sign-up (Swish), first box delivery, à la carte addition, payment method change (Swish → Klarna → card), subscription pause, subscription resume, subscription cancellation, and reactivation. Each lifecycle event tested with all payment methods. 120 subscription lifecycle scenarios. (5) Payment retry and dunning testing: when a monthly charge failed, automated testing verified the retry schedule (retry at 24h, 48h, 72h), dunning emails (sent in Swedish with correct amounts), and graceful degradation (subscription paused, not cancelled, after 3 failed retries). (6) CI/CD integration: all payment tests ran on every PR. Nightly full payment suite: 35 minutes. Real-time alerting: if any payment provider sandbox showed degraded performance, the team was notified before it affected production.
Payment QA delivered in 7 weeks. Swish/Autogiro: recurring payment failure rate dropped from 12% to 1.8% — the Autogiro mandate setup was the root cause, now verified end-to-end on every deployment.
